The EA is now offline. If you get post write a mail to ealeinemasch@disroot.org or ask your local Rote Hilfe organisation for support.
Update regarding Repression (October 2024):
After the eviction of the Leinemasch from January 15 to 17, 2024, several people now have ongoing proceedings. The investigating authorities are still trying to identify other people who have so far been able to successfully evade an identity check.
Already at the memorial demonstration on the anniversary of the racist attack in Hanau on February 19, two people were checked shortly after leaving the assembly because they were supposedly recognized. They are accused of trespassing. Actually, the police wanted to pull out even more people, but fortunately did not do so after they had already shown solidarity with the two people affected.
House searches
One of the two people was searched in June, during which devices were confiscated and diaries were read. In addition to the obvious intimidation of the person, one goal of the house search was to locate other suspects.
It is noteworthy that such a harmless accusation as trespassing is sufficient for a judicial order, especially since no evidence was sought for this accusation. The cops would also have liked to have searched the house of the second person, but apparently the court had a different opinion on proportionality in this case.
Threat of ED treatment
In addition, those affected are threatened with identification treatment (ED treatment), in which fingerprints, palm prints, palm prints, palm prints and fingertip prints, measurements and the determination of physical characteristics are to be carried out. Those affected are taking legal action against this with the aim of preventing this additional intimidation attempt.
Penalty orders and first upcoming court cases
In the context of the eviction, there are several penalty orders for alleged trespassing: Those affected have appealed. In the meantime, the first court trial is scheduled for the winter, which is about the accusation of trespassing.
After the excavator occupation during the large demonstration on October 1, 2023, 2 penalty orders were also sent, against which an objection was initially filed. After legal advice, political discussion and personal consideration, it was withdrawn. Thus, the two victims were sentenced to a fine of 7200 € each for assault.
Fines
In the case of more than 10 people, fine proceedings were initiated for ID refusal. Some of them have already been identified in the prisoner collection point (Gesa), others supposedly afterwards. The cops also think they have identified people across state borders. 122.50€ are demanded each.
Pigs sniffing
The effort with which the police in particular are currently trying to identify and intimidate people is extremely large:
– Several people were summoned as witnesses for alleged “traffic incidents”. The fact that it was about the Leinemasch was not made clear by the summons itself. The background was that on the days of the eviction of the Leinemasch, the police noted license plates of the cars near the Gesa and in one case also investigated through a rental car company who borrowed the car.
– Photos of wanted persons were exchanged at police stations and some cops were specially assigned to memorize faces.
– In one house, all tenants rang the doorbell and showed a photo to identify the person depicted on it. One party was threatened to summon their daughter to check whether she was the person they were looking for if they did not cooperate with the police.
– One person was chased on the way by two people
– presumably cops. They pointed at her and followed her to a public party. The situation was not seen as poorly concealed observation, but as open intimidation.
– Recently, Zivis have been walking around at demos and observing people they know from the leash mash context. They are probably still looking for previously unidentified people in their vicinity.
Result
It was already clear beforehand that left-wing movements such as the climate justice movement are subject to greater repression than, for example, neo-Nazis. Nevertheless, the extent of repression in such low accusations is surprising, completely exaggerated and has continued to rise in recent years. Since house searches are becoming more and more relaxed, all politically active people should prepare for them:
– Are there any agreements on this with roommates, friends or comrades?
– Are laptops, mobile phones and other devices encrypted?
– Are there backups outside the home?
– Have notes, recognizable clothing, prohibited items and other incriminating material been disposed of?
– Are there contact details of lawyers in solidarity?
Many people who refused their ID in the context of the eviction of the Leinemasch have been under a lot of stress since then. Be it because they avoid demonstrations in order not to be recognized, or because they have been supposedly identified and are affected by concrete repression. This extended refusal to cooperate with the repressive apparatus has a strong political expression and has also saved a lot of costs and stress, especially in mass actions. But politically very active people in particular are exposed to an increased risk of being recognized in their own city after ID refusal. That’s why we think it’s important to think through such decisions well in advance and discuss whether this practice seems to make sense in a specific case.
We find it most important to find solidary responses to this repression. This means, for example, donating money, offering support to those affected/relieving them of work, accompanying any court proceedings or ED treatments in solidarity, scandalizing and attacking the behavior of the authorities and, above all, continuing the protest!
If you are affected by repression yourself, contact your local anti-repression structures. And feel free to contact the EA Leinemasch for information, so that we can keep track, or also for advice, support and exchange.

As the legal team (EA), we are available for you by phone during the action. We take care of those who have been arrested and, in particular, make sure that no person is forgotten at the police station. No one is left alone.
Call the EA / Legal Team
The EA can be reached by phone during the entire evacuation as well as on 1/10 (day and night).
But the EA is not active for the entire clearing season, only as soon as the clearing alarm goes off the structure will be accessible until the clearing/clearing is done and everyone is free*. If the EA is needed during the clearing season, you can notify us by email at ealeinemasch@disroot.org (PGP key on request) and it will be available on request. At the police station you have the right to a successful phone call, please use it to notify us.
You can reach us at: +49 641 201099260
Please contact EA if:
- you witness arrests, violence or other assaults by the police.
- you yourself have been arrested.
- you are free again.
- If possible, you should say something about these points to the EA when you call:
- What is your personal ID number? (For our system, it is important that you have an ID number, even if you have personal details) If you enter your personal details, you can also tell us your name.
- Where exactly are you being held?
- What is the accusation of the police against you?
- Do you need essential medication?
- Have more people been taken into custody with you? (Please only mention names if you are absolutely sure that the other people have already revealed their identity to the police! However, we are happy to write down anonymous ID numbers of fellow prisoners.)
You should NOT do this in the phone call with the EA! say:
- What you really did or didn’t do.
- Your name if you haven’t told the police yet and don’t want to reveal your identity.
- What other people were involved but are not in custody. Important: Do not make any statements and do not sign anything with the police! If you observe or are checked on other people arrests or assaults – please call us directly, then we can at least take care that no one disappears unnoticed or consider together with you what a possible procedure in the control could be. We speak German and English.
The EA is in contact with lawyers and will take care of defense, in case of a summary trial or if the police want to keep you there for a longer period of time. We will also find people who will be waiting for you in front of the Prisoner Collection Center (GeSa) and will pick you up. We make sure that no person is forgotten. Be sure to call the EA when you’re free again so we know (even if you didn’t report to us from the police station, maybe an observer reported you)!
ID Number
On the LeinemaschBLEIBT website you will find an ID number generator. There you will be shown an individual number in a box, which you can tell the EA for the leash if you are detained and want to contact the EA anonymously. You can also share the ID number with your affinity group or friends so they can ask the EA about you. So remember not only the EA phone number, but also your personal ID number (it’s best to write it on your arm). Please also keep in mind that our system can only work if all those whose number was (possibly) recorded with us during the campaign also report back by phone or signal when they are free again (after GESA or a boiler).
Info: The ID number generator generates a new number every time you reload the page, so that no numbers are assigned twice. Numbers can be generated almost infinitely. Just write down the first/best number, so you have your individual and unique ID number!
Repression
We as EA provide legal assistance and ensure that no one is left alone. We stand in solidarity! There is an account to cover the anti-repression costs, if you have any leftovers, feel free to leave something there. *We do not have the experience and capacity to provide long-term detention care, but if there is a case where this is necessary, we will organize a group to take care of you. You will not be left alone. If you receive any mail afterwards, please contact the anti-repression structure in your city/vicinity. We will still be available by email for a few months after the campaign. So you can also contact us, but we will only pass on. It makes sense to take a closer look at the legal conditions beforehand.
